Independent research, insight & advisory
Research that stands up.
I help organisations answer important questions with original research, then make sense of the evidence and what it means.
Sometimes the objective is better decision-making. Sometimes it is a stronger point of view, a flagship piece of thought leadership or a better commercial conversation. Whatever the purpose, the evidence has to hold up under scrutiny.
I work from the initial brief through research design, analysis and interpretation to the final output, whether that is a report, presentation, point of view or longer-running research programme.

What I do
Start with the right question
I work with clients to get clear on what they really need to understand and what they need the research to do, then design the study around that: the audience, the method, the level of rigour the job requires.
Work out what the evidence means
I analyse surveys, interviews, market data and other evidence to find the patterns and tensions that change how a problem is understood.
I normally go into analysis with hypotheses. I try not to let the answer get written before the evidence is in. The job is finding what the evidence actually supports, including findings that complicate the original brief.
Make the research work harder
Research can support decisions, shape a point of view, or give commercial teams something worthwhile to talk about. For longer-running programmes, I also look at where the same evidence can answer different questions or serve different audiences without simply repeating the original report.

Why AI adoption stalls
Original research into why AI initiatives struggle to move beyond early adoption.
The findings pointed beyond technology to issues including ownership, trust, incentives, readiness and differences in how stakeholders viewed the decision.
